Title: Enhancing the performance of underwater optical wireless communication: a physical-layer perspective
Abstract:
In this speech, we will introduce our recent efforts on the performance enhancement of underwater optical wireless communication (UOWC) from a physical-layer perspective. Firstly, a novel orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) scheme is proposed to address the band limitation issue of practical UOWC systems. Secondly, the channel characteristics of polarization multiplexing (PolM)-based UOWC systems under bubble turbulence are investigated and efficient coding schemes are also applied. Thirdly, spatial division transmission (SDT) techniques with advanced coding schemes are proposed to substantially enhance the performance of UOWC systems under both static and dynamic channel conditions.
